Community Impact

FRESH WATER TO NEPAL

ACHS supports local and international education initiatives to promote sustainability and environmental stewardship in the essential oil and botanical products industry. In 2019, ACHS further supported its project to bring fresh water to the women-owned essential oil production fields in Nepal by sponsoring a pump to automate water access from the well ACHS funded, in partnership with Lebermuth, in 2018.

The donation benefits Nepalese leasehold forestry groups, many of whom are women, who grow aromatic plants for essential oil distillation. In 2019, ACHS also supported further education to promote development of the region by awarding the ACHS Presidential Scholarship to Digambar Prasad Chaudhary, program officer for the Asia Farmer-to-Farmer Program.

FREE WEBINARS

In 2019, ACHS provided 890 hours of free webinars, accessible world-wide spanning 14 various topics in holistic health and wellness. ACHS’s goal for 2020 is to triple their webinar presence, maximizing access for more people, through more topics and frequency.

COMMITTED TO A LOCAL CAUSE

ACHS staff and faculty were grateful for the opportunity to support national nonprofit One Warm Coat, through their organized coat drive, by raising $500 and gathering 40 coats, 35 scarves, and other warm items, donated directly to Portland-based nonprofit, Neighborhood House.

STAFF AND FACULTY HOURS OF SERVICE

OUTSIDE THE OFFICE

At ACHS, our staff and faculty continue to live the mission and vision of the institution, and as a certified B Corp, beyond business hours. In 2019, team members donated thousands of hours of community service demolishing and constructing housing for families in need, supporting local programs such as Store to Door and Shopping for Seniors, farming community gardens, and volunteering with the Oregon Food Bank, affiliated educational, religious and spiritual organizations, BIPOC organizations, and local animal shelters. The collective passion for community betterment also resulted in over 100 bags of food and hygiene donations and personal financial contributions to many of the team's focused charities.

ACHS FOUNDATION

In 2019, ACHS founded the ACHS Foundation to expand awareness and access to integrative health education and global sustainability practices. The Foundation's goal is to empower people to lead positive lives while encouraging individuals to engage in teaching, advocacy, and service.
