Speaker Bios

Stephanie North, Director of Financial Aid / Director of Military Education Benefits

Stephanie joined American College in 2012. She came to ACHS with six years' experience as a Director of Financial Aid, Financial Aid Auditor, and Veterans Education Specialist. Stephanie has a B.A. in History and Political Science from Loyola University in Chicago and an MBA in Finance and Nonprofit Management from Regis University in Denver. She is also a member of both the Oregon and National Associations of Student Financial Aid Administrators and President of the Oregon Association of Veteran School Certifying Officials (ORAVSCO).

Amanda Heller, Associate Dean of Admissions / Military Education Coordinator

Amanda joins the ACHS team with more than seven years' experience in admissions advising. She earned a BS in Speech Communications from Oregon State University (OSU) and proceeded to earn her MBA from ITT Technical Institute. Amanda's passion for education started when she began teaching Public Speaking classes at OSU. When she left college to pursue her career, she realized that she did not want to be in any other industry. Amanda loves helping people figure out their career goals and follow their passions and seeing them be successful. Admissions is a very rewarding experience that has shaped who she is today.

Abbey Skinner, ACHS Professor

Abbey earned her Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Integrative Health in 2019. She has always had a passion for holistic health and discovered her love for teaching while on a special duty assignment for 3 years as an instructor for the Community College of the Air Force. In May of 2014, she separated from 14 years of active duty service to pursue her dreams of education, teaching and helping others. In addition to teaching at ACHS (Sep 2015), Abbey administers holistic health consultations and bioenergetic evaluations for Gabriel’s Promise, an organization committed to providing integrative health solutions.

Pam Chavez, ACHS Alumni and Veteran

Pam Chavez completed ACHS’s Certificate in Nutrition Consulting course while stationed overseas. She and her family are currently stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas.
