32 Fragrance Blends for Soap

We suggest running a test batch first.

The following formulas can be blended in any quantity. The proportions given should remain approximately the same. The numbers given refer to percentages in the blend, not a specific quantity. These are guidelines only. Fragrancing is a personal, subjective pursuit. Experiment and alter these formulas freely. The figures are ratios, so you can make drops, milliliters, teaspoons, or pound lots. It is prudent to test a blend first, keeping the ratio, and reducing the formulas to small test amounts.

Quantities used will vary. We suggest running a test batch first. Each blend is listed alphabetically to simplify mixing. The blends can then be used at 1-2% strength in the soap recipe.

Alternatively, use the following guidelines:

For five bars (three ounces), use one ounce of fragrance.
For 21 bars (three ounces), use three ounces of fragrance.
For 42 bars (three ounces), use four ounces of fragrance.

Color this soap brown for a perfect aroma-color combination. A melted chocolate bar, coffee (finely ground or instant) and ground cinnamon Cinnamomum zeylanicum (Blume) will all impart a brown color.
