Speaker Bios

Andy Pierson, Website Coordinator

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science in Interactive Media Design from the Art Institute of Portland, and has an insatiable interest in all things digital. He brings a wealth of experience in web asset management, photography, and design. In his free time, Andrew travels as frequently as possible. He considers Colombia, Yellowstone and Iceland to be his most memorable extended trips, as well as repeated visits to a dear friend in London, England. In the summer months, he likes to explore the far corners of Oregon, his home state, in search of the great outdoors. Andrew is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys camping/hiking. His other hobbies include raising chickens, watching the Portland Trailblazers, as well as working on Porsches, motorcycles, and 4x4s.

Gillian Turner, Social Media Coordinator

Gillian joined ACHS after graduating from Linfield College with a BA in Mass Communication and a minor in visual studies. She grew up off the grid in rural southern Oregon and spent time exploring the forest surrounding her house and teaching gardening classes to other children in her garden. While at Linfield, Gillian gained valuable experience in public relations, social media management, and digital art. She was awarded a strategic communication scholarship and inducted into Kappa Tau Alpha, a national college honor society “that recognizes academic excellence and promotes scholarship in journalism and mass communication.”

Professor Anisa Kassim, BA, MPH, MTOM, CHES

Anisa Kassim is a licensed acupuncturist and public health educator. She has been working professionally in the field of health for the last 14 years. After working in the area of training and health education, she pursued a degree in the area of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist. She currently owns a health institute in California that has various integrative modalities, including a tai chi, qi gong, and yoga therapy school. She has been teaching online for the last five years in the areas of public and integrative health. She utilizes her Eastern and Western background when working with patients and with her students in the online classroom.

Molly Sykes, Senior Admissions Advisor

Molly is originally from Northern Arizona. She graduated from Arizona State University in 2008 with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and later obtained a Masters of Science in Leadership from Grand Canyon University. Molly has three years’ experience in national and international sales, as well as five years’ experience in higher education admission counseling. In her free time, you can find Molly at yoga class, backpacking, traveling, or enjoying the latest documentary at home with her family.

Natalie Dewitt, Dean of Students

Natalie joined the ACHS team in December 2019 to continue her calling as a mentor and advisor to students who want to know, be, and do more. After completing a BS in Secondary Health Education and an MS in School and College Health Program Planning, Natalie earned her Ph.D. in Health Behavior with an emphasis in the anthropology of food, all from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Her dissertation research focused on the ways in which couples adapt to living together through food work. She has enjoyed working in higher education for the past 15 years as a student, mentor, teaching assistant, instructor, professor, and program director, both in traditional learning environments and innovative online classrooms. She specializes in health behavior, public health, community health education, healthcare administration, and organizational behavior and leadership.

Jennifer Langsdale, ACHS MS in Aromatherapy Graduate

Jennifer is a 15-year yoga and wellness professional earning her Master's in the Science of Aromatherapy at ACHS, and is looking forward to giving you valuable tips to get you through your semester and life practices.
